Legal
Privacy Policy
Plain-language policy for a small U.S. press. Effective date: September 19, 2026.
Amphibian Publishing (an imprint of Amphibian LLC) respects your privacy. This site is a simple catalog and contact point for our field-guide journals. We keep things minimal on purpose.
Who we are

Information we collect
- Contact email. If you write to us (questions, licensing, wholesale, or anything else), we receive whatever you send—typically your email address and message. We use that only to reply and to keep a reasonable record of the conversation.
- Cloud Spotter signup. When the homepage (and related) signup is live, email addresses entered for Cloud Spotter are collected through Buttondown, our newsletter provider. We use that address to send the Cloud Spotter PDF access path and occasional related notes from the press. Email only—we do not ask for other personal details on that form. You can unsubscribe via links in those messages, or email us to be removed. Until Buttondown is connected, treat any signup form as inactive; you may still email admin@amphibianpublishing.com about Cloud Spotter.
- Website analytics. We do not currently run third-party analytics or tracking pixels on this site. If we add analytics later, we will update this policy and prefer privacy-respecting options.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our host may automatically log basic technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to identify you for marketing.
Etsy purchases
Digital and printable editions are sold through our shop on Etsy (AmphibianPublishing). When you buy on Etsy, your purchase, payment, and related personal information are handled by Etsy under Etsy’s own policies—not by us on this website. Please review Etsy’s privacy policy: etsy.com/legal/privacy.
We may see order details Etsy provides to sellers (for example, your name and email for fulfillment or customer service). We use that only to deliver the product and support your order.
Amazon paperbacks
When paperbacks are live on Amazon, purchases there are handled by Amazon under Amazon’s privacy policy. This website does not process those transactions.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- We do not use your contact details for unrelated advertising lists.
- We do not require an account on this website.
How long we keep information
Contact messages and Cloud Spotter signup addresses (via Buttondown when live) are kept only as long as needed to respond, fulfill a request, deliver the PDF path, or send related notes you signed up for—then deleted or archived when no longer useful. Buttondown retains subscriber records under its own practices while you remain on the list. Order-related information follows what Etsy (or Amazon) retains and what we need for customer service and records.
Your choices
Email admin@amphibianpublishing.com to ask what we have from your correspondence, to update your address, or to request removal from the Cloud Spotter / Buttondown list. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
Our journals may be used by families and students, but this website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this site.
Changes
If our practices change (for example, if we add analytics), we will update this page and the effective date above.
